This is the R&D oriented company of its parent company that has been the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer and it has more than 60 years of history. They now produce variety of vehicles ranginess from car, and aircraft.

Its parent company is also known as the world’s largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines.


The company has been passionately creating innovation, particularly focusing on robots. There are two types of robots they are creating: now they are trying to work on creating the robots which can act on behalf of human in the places where people have difficulty to enter. They also try to create the robot which will peacefully co-exist with human being by complimenting the work that people cannot do. In order to create the world where robots and human beings co-exist and let the robots act in flexible manner even in the unknown environment, it is highly important to have high level recognition technology as well as autonomous control technique. You will be working on creating the robots which will be utilized in people’s day-to-day lives.

Job Description:

You would be a part of adding new value through being a part of robot progression and you not only just plan but also work on development and do feasibility study. You are allowed to challenge many new things and can create new values.


Exact job will be determined based on your skill set and experiences, but you would be in charge of one of the below:

1)   Image recognition:

・In the field of image recognition which things will be predicted based on image, raiser measurement and other multi modal information.

・You would be working on research and development of such image recognition techniques to predict human movement and understanding of environment.

・You would be working on requirement specification, detailed planning, programming and test (how it will be moved in actual robots)

・Collecting data and analyzing the data

・You would be cooperating with various related sections (such as hardware planning division and control design team etc.…)and work on PDCA, improve the quality and reliability, and work on constant progressions.

・There are times where you will be working on patent registration and also work with partner research institutions abroad as well as in Japan

・Language to be used for development: C, C++, OpenCV, PCL (point Cloud Library), OpenRTM, ROS, development in Ubuntu (LINUX)


2)   Voice recognition and natural language processing:

・To realize the vision of communicating between robots and human in smooth voice way, you would be working on research and development of voice communication under very noisy robust environment.

・In order to remove noise such as people’s background conversation etc.… you would be developing technology to orientation of origin of the sound and establish environmental modeling.

・You would be developing the technology which the robots will provide necessary information for guidance even in case people ask very vague questions or the information people provide are insufficient.

・You sometimes work on patent registration and work on collaborative research project

・Programming language you would be using: C, C++, Python etc..

・Voice recognition: Julius, Kaldi, NICT, Voice interaction SDK (SLC-SDK), AMINO etc.…

・Voice recognition processions: HARK





1)   Image recognition:

・Have specialty in image recognition

・Passion to make robot as a part of people’s daily lives, can take initiative on your own


2)   Voice recognition and natural language processing

・Acoustic signal processing

・Natural language processing,

・Experience in being involved in working on algorithm for voice recognition


It will be a plus if you have:

・Machine learning techniques

・Techniques to acknowledge the distance in 3D

・Knowledge in statistics and probability theory

・Annual salary: 3,000,000 JPY to 3,600,000JPY

・ Various social insurances

・The work location is in Nagano prefecture

・Core work time is 9:00-16:00 (you have to be present at the office for this time for sure), as long as you commit to 8 hours work covering this core work time, you can choose your start/end work time by yourself  


*Please note that the position is only for those who are currently residing in Japan only* 



・Monthly Salary: 235,000 JPY (for 25 years old), 260,000 JPY for 30 years olf, 325,000jPY for 33 years old  *But these are just samples, and your actual salary will be determined based on your career etc.…

・Over time work will be paid on top of the above mentioned monthly salary

・Salary promotion: once a year (June)

・Bonus: twice a year (June and December)

・Various social insurances to be covered
