With the mission of making people’s daily cooking as fun activities, the company launched the cooking recipe site where people can publish their own favorite recipes. Now the number of recipes on the website has increased to 2.5 million and there are more than 60 million users per month.

The company not only provides services in Japan but also globally. They are particularly accelerating global team’s work.

The company also tries to work on diversifying the company’s main service using their core technology. For example, they have launched cooking classes where the company’s certified cooking teachers can hold their lessons at their home or cafes. The lessons are available to anyone without any membership registration fee.

They have launched the web media where Japanese food latest trend is shared. The media consists of interesting articles from people who are residing outside Japan, who love Japanese food, Washoku.

Job Description

Job Description:

  • Rapidly develop user-facing features, predominantly using Ruby and leveraging the Rails Framework

  • Support our backend platform that serves web clients and provides REST API endpoints for mobile client apps

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

  • Contribute in all phases of development

  • Investigate and resolve performance issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies

 

Required skill set and experiences:

Experienced in performance, debugging, and refactoring

  • Comfortable with the full stack to deliver features from idea to production

  • Inquisitive, motivated, and comfortable working with a distributed, multinational team

  • Desire to rapidly contribute to the company’s services and improve the lives of millions of users

Conditions:

・Salary: To be disclosed upon your application, but very competitive (the exact salary to be decided based on your experiences and skill set)

・Bonus: once a year (but based on the company’s sales/profit)

・You can choose one of the followings: 1) Transportation cost to be covered up to 30,000 JPY monthly, 2) If you are residing within 1.5 km distance from the office, you will be provided 30,000JPY or 3) 10,000 JPY per month bike ride support

・ Various social insurances to be covered
